Dr. Mark Van Horn is a 1983 cum laude graduate of the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. He managed a busy small animal practice in Chicago for seven years before purchasing Tri-City Animal & Bird Clinic in 1990. In 2017, Dr. Morhaus joined Dr. Van Horn as co-owners of Tri-City. He has pursued continuing education on a variety of avian, exotic, and small animal medical topics. Dr. Van Horn's wife, Lori, is also a veterinarian. They have four married children, Michael, Christina, Timothy and Angela and four grandchildren. They share their home with a three cats named "Ezra", "Lila" and "Luca", and a cockatiel named "Buggs".
